Adam Skelly, owner of the Etobicoke restaurant that remained open after the Toronto area went back into lockdown, has been released on $50,000 bail, according to City News.

Skelly's next court appearance will be January 4.

Skelly was arrested yesterday after two full days of his restaurant serving the public. Police made the arrest Thursday morning, after police had already changed the locks and prevented anyone from entering the building.

Skelly told The Post Millennial on Wednesday that he would continue to "act in noncompliance" with the orders, adding that he hoped other restaurants and businesses would open their doors.

The business was also given a heft $100,000 fine, which a GoFundMe campaign covered in under 24 hours.

"I don’t know him but I do know that guys like Adam are in short supply during this overblown COVID nonsense. And he deserves our support," said Barry McNamar, the man who launched the initiative.

He continues, "Don’t put this aside for later. Every fine, every police visit, every daily scolding by some fat cat politician is chipping away at Adam’s courage. Show him that he’s not alone. Donate now."
