Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is set to hold a Get Out the Vote rally on June 22 in the Bronx, just three days before the New York Primary Election on June 25. The event will feature Vermont senator Bernie Sanders and New York Representative Jamaal Bowman, among others.

In a post on X, Ocasio-Cortez emphasized the importance of voter turnout in the upcoming primary. “We have a world to win. To do so, we must defeat cynicism, apathy, and big money to turn out every voter we can in the New York primary THIS MONTH,” she wrote.

The upcoming rally by Ocasio-Cortez and her allies aims to energize and mobilize voters in the final days before the primary. The rally also follows a recent event held by former President Donald Trump in the Bronx in May, which drew significant attention and controversy.

Ocasio-Cortez criticized Trump's presence, asserting that Bronx residents do not support him. At the time of Trump’s rally, the congresswoman accused him of hosting the event to “try to con people” and "raise money for his own legal fees.”

“He’s doing it in the South Bronx, not to make a point, but because he’s got court and the man practically has the legal version of an ankle bracelet around him, and he can’t leave the five boroughs because he always has to be in court. And so it is truly an embarrassment to him,” Ocasio-Cortez claimed.

Despite her claims, the Trump rally saw a substantial turnout, with the campaign estimating around 25,000 attendees. Many left-wing pundits were left surprised at the turnout the former president received in the Democratic-dominated New York City neighborhood.
