Musician Ariel Pink has apparently been barred from performing an upcoming show at the Lodge Room in Highland Park. Pink went on to say that the Lodge Room represented his largest market, but that he will now not be able to perform.

The lo-fi aesthete took to Twitter on Tuesday, posting: “Was booked to play at the Lodge Room in Highland Park next month. Staff complained. Show canceled. My biggest market.”

A fellow Twitterite commented on the post, asking for Pink to post the details of the venue so fans could call, apparently to lobby for allowing Pink to perform.

Pink subsequently posted a screenshot of the venue’s contact information. It is unknown how many people have called the Lodge Room, campaigning for the lo-fi aesthete.

Pink had previously been canceled for being an outward supporter of former President Donald Trump. It all came to a head when, on January 6, 2021, Pink was spotted in DC to peacefully support his president, but others did not see it that way.

Pink said of the incident: “I was in DC to peacefully show my support for the president. I attended the rally on the White House lawn and went back to [the] hotel and took a nap. Case closed.” As a result, he lost many of his friends, and his record label, Mexican Summer, ultimately dropped him just two days after the event.

“My career is destroyed,” Pink said, following Mexican Summer dropping him. “My entire reputation is destroyed. The whole thing felt coordinated, but I know better than to think it was. It was just a bunch of people that didn’t care about the ethics of the situation. [Mexican Summer] just basically needed to push their agenda. They were afraid of being canceled by the people who are into my stuff. They would have rather basically punished me instead of defending themselves.”

He went on to say that the thing that hurt the most was that those closest to him “went running for the hills,” adding that “they didn’t bother to call or check in to hear the story from my perspective. They didn’t want to get roped into it. And that’s where it stands to this day. I haven’t spoken to the label or my friends who just believe I got radicalized and should do some soul-searching.”

Pink later appeared on Tucker Carlson to discuss the experience, which he claimed did not help the situation.
