President Biden announced Saturday that Americans can expect a $1,400 cheque for COVID relief in March. This comes after the Senate passed a $1.9 trillion coronavirus relief bill in a 50-49 partisan vote. This is according to the Hill

This is the first stimulus cheques to be given out by the new sitting President. Previously, President Trump had issued relief in the form of $1,200 and another $600.

“This plan puts us on a path to beating the virus. This plan gives those families who are struggling the most the help and the breathing room they need to get through this moment. This plan gives small businesses in this country a fighting chance to survive,” Biden said after the bill was passed.

According to Reuters, the payments will go to 85 percent of Americans.
