Biden's DOJ seeks no jail time for convicted trans vandal charged with hate crime for defacing Catholic church, assaulting staff member in Washington state

Nota smashed two glass doors with rocks, and spray painted messages on the church’s outside walls including "F*ck Catholics," "rot in your fake hell," "kid groomers," and "woman-haters" in June.

The transgender suspect who admitted to vandalizing a Washington state Catholic Church, assaulting a church worker, and resisting arrest has been offered what some are calling a sweetheart plea deal, with Biden’s Department of Justice recommending zero jail time.

Maeve Nota, described by Fox News as a "31-year-old transgender individual," vandalized the St. Louise Catholic Church in Bellevue, Washington last summer following the overturning of Roe v Wade.

A plea agreement viewed by the outlet revealed that the DOJ recommends zero jail time for the suspect, who smashed two glass doors with rocks, and spray painted messages on the church’s outside walls including "F*ck Catholics," "rot in your fake hell," "kid groomers," and "woman-haters" in June.

When attempting to chase Nota off of the property, a church staff member was spray painted across their face.

Police said that when officers located Nota at the time, Nota used a backpack full of spray paint cans to smash the police window, with police noting that Nota appeared intoxicated during the arrest.

Nota was said to have been angry about the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v Wade the week before the vandalism took place.

Police Captain Darryl McKinney told Fox 13 Seattle at the time that the $10,000 worth of damages fell under a hate crime statute.

According to filings from early March viewed by Fox News, the DOJ charged Nota with the destruction of religious property, a misdemeanor that can carry up to one year in prison and $100,000 in fines.

One week later though, a plea agreement between the DOJ, Nota, and Nota’s attorneys revealed that the department will not be recommending jail time, and instead recommending three years of probation at Nota’s June 2 sentencing.

The recommendation is a sharp contrast to the 11 years the Biden administration was seeking in the case of pro-life activist Mark Houck, who was raided by the FBI in connection to his alleged assault of a Planned Parenthood escort.

A jury acquitted Houck of all charges in January, who was charged with violations of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act.

"It is very clear that the Biden Justice Department has politicized and weaponized the FACE Act to go after pro-life Christians praying outside of abortion clinics like Mark Houck while turning a blind eye to violent felons terrorizing and badly damaging Catholic churches like Maeve Nota," Mike Davis, founder of the Article III Project, told Fox News.

"The Biden Justice Department tried to put Houck in prison for 11 years for defending his son while recommending no jail time for Nota after this deranged trans terrorist badly damaged a Catholic church, fought with the police, assaulted a church employee, and scared the hell out of a little old lady praying," Davis said.
