On Thursday evening, a speaker at a Young American’s Foundation (YAF) event at the University of Buffalo was forced to be escorted by police outside the event as a mob of protestors swarmed, which had also chased a conservative student earlier in the evening.

Allen West, a black retired US Army lieutenant colonel and former Representative, was at the university to give a lecture titled "America Is Not Racist."

Video taken at the conclusion of the event, obtained by YAF, shows police escorting West through the crowd, which chanted "no justice, no peace," and "I’m black and I’m proud." West was reportedly escorted by the officers back to his hotel in a squad car.

On the day of the lecture, students took part in a walkout during the school day, with others reportedly planning to infiltrate and disrupt the evening’s event.

According to YAF, the lecture went through peacefully, but activists attempted to take over the accompanying Q&A session, who used the time to hijack the conversation and insult West.

Protestors of the event also attempted to break down the doors to the reception that followed the event.

Additional footage of the event showed protestors gathered in the hallway outside where the lecture was taking place, screaming chants in hopes to drown out West.

One female student who was chased by the mob into the men’s bathroom told YAF that she was scared for her life.

"I am unbelievably disturbed that I was chased by a leftist mob and scared for my life on my college campus all for hosting Lt. Col. Allen West, a conservative speaker," said Therese Purcell. "I was aggressively chased by about 200 angry protesters and had to hide in a men's bathroom from screaming leftists who were searching for me. The assault on free speech at University at Buffalo by an angry mob is incredibly unacceptable."

YAF Program Officer for Campus Advancement Gianna Milaro, who was on-site during the event, called the scene a "pandemonium."

"At many times throughout the night, I was legitimately worried about West’s and the students’ physical safety due to the angry mob berating and banging on the doors," she told YAF.
