Target has sent an internal email to all employees in the wake of backlash for pushing Pride month attire on its customers that resulted in the company losing $9 billion in a single week, referencing the third anniversary of the death of George Floyd.

The email, obtained by Greg Price, seems to swing from addressing the LGBTQIA+ community to the third-year anniversary of George Floyd. The email says: "Yesterday was a very hard day for Target, and as CEO Brian Cornell said, thank you for the care you've shown each other, our frontline teams, and the LGBTQIA+ community."

It continues: "Today brings more reflection, pain and the need for continued care as our team, hometown and world remember the murder of George Floyd. As you make space to take care of yourself and each other, know that you can always tap into these tools from Team Member LIfe Resources, and as Mental Health Awareness Month continues, turn to Take Five to Take Care hub for more wellbeing support."

This internal email comes after Target received substantial backlash after pushing trans clothing and attire, including a tuck-friendly bathing suit for men who like to dress as women. It is strange that Target toggled from addressing the queer community to suddenly latching onto the death of George Floyd, whose death sparked deadly riots across the country.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
