On Wednesday evening, just before Florida Governor Ron DeSantis revealed that he will be running for President of the United States, a myriad of technical issues occurred that delayed the announcement.

For about 30 minutes, DeSantis was unable to make the announcement on a Twitter Space co-hosted by Elon Musk as servers were repeatedly crashing, resulting in many listeners hearing no audio.

Eventually, the Space went live and appeared to be fully functioning.

"I think it crashed because when you multiply a half million people in a room by an account with over 100 million followers, which is Elon’s account, I think that creates just a scalability level that was unprecedented," said Space host David Sacks.

"We have some scaling issues specifically related to my account," Musk said, adding that at one point in January, "if I tweeted, above a certain size, it would crash the service" and then "anyone else who was tweeting at the same time, we would lose their tweet as well."

Issues discussed during the space included the crisis of illegal immigration, abuse of corporate power, the Covid-19 lockdowns, and radical leftist initiatives such as critical race theory and the sexualization of children.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
