A 31-year-old Colorado woman, Andrea Serrano, was arrested in July 2022 on felony charges related to her sexual assault of a 13-year-old boy whom she became pregnant by, but after a plea deal she is expected not to serve any jail time.

Local KKTV reports the victim's mother said, "I feel like if she was a man and he was a little girl, it would definitely be different. They would be seeking more. I feel like because he is not a woman, they are not. They are having compassion for her."

Fox News reports, "Serrano allegedly admitted to police that she had sex with the teenager" and later became pregnant with his child.

The mother said, "I feel like my son is robbed of his childhood. Now he's having to be a father. He's a victim, and he's going to have to live with that for the rest of his life."

The Fountain Police Department said on their Facebook that they began their investigation in June 2022 and Serrano was arrested on the sexual assault charge as well as on a child and sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.

She was detained in the El Paso County Criminal Justice Center and later agreed to a plea deal offered by prosecutors where she could agree to a lesser offense.

According to KKTV the deal did not mandate any jail time for Serrano although she would have to register as a sex offender and a judge "could sentence her to 10 years to life on sex offender intensive supervised probation."

The family of the victim have said they will pursue sole custody of the child.
