Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has announced that he will host his top donors and social media influencers this week for an event. The move suggests that he may be readying a campaign against former President Donald Trump for the 2024 Republican nomination.

The event will be held at the Four Seasons resort in Palm Beach, Florida, and 150 guests are expected to attend the three-day event, including Republican donors and conservative social-media influencers that Team DeSantis has been friendly with in recent months ahead of a potential presidential run, a source close told Reuters.

The event will come just after Trump's fundraiser at Mar-a-Lago set for Thursday. The former president has already declared for the 2024 race.

Thus far, the only candidates to declare are Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley and Trump. No other candidates have officially declared.

The event comes after DeSantis was seen traveling around the country, to New York, Chicago and Philadelphia to speak with law enforcement personnel on criminal justice matters, with the Florida Governor being set to headline Republican fundraisers in Alabama, California and Texas early next month.
