Eric Adams complains Biden is 'doing nothing' about border crisis after New York flooded with illegal aliens

Adams spoke outside of City Hall and said, "The far right is doing the wrong thing. The far left is doing nothing. I mean, the silence — I don’t believe the silence I’m hearing."

NYC Mayor Eric Adams said at a news conference on Monday that the far left wing of his own Democrat party is "doing nothing" when it comes to the border crisis.

According to the New York Post, Adams spoke outside of City Hall and said, "The far right is doing the wrong thing. The far left is doing nothing. I mean, the silence — I don’t believe the silence I’m hearing."

New York City has become a depository of illegal immigrants as a record-high number of 1,659,206 illegal immigrants crossed America's southern border in 2021 and there have been more than two million encounters in the 2022 fiscal year. In April, Texas Governor Greg Abbott contemplated on a way to manage and relocate the masses of migrants flooding into Texas. He promised to bus border crossers to blue states whose leadership supported open borders, such as Democrat Eric Adams.

in July, Adams criticized the Biden administration for sending illegal immigrants to NYC and asked Biden to send "additional resources immediately" to help with the "rapidly growing shelter population and new clients who are seeking asylum."

As the migrants from the border states flooded NYC's shelter system Adams said in September that the time has come to reconsider the Big Apple's historic "right to shelter" laws as he cannot handle the influx of illegal immigrants being bused from Texas.

Adams said the system is "nearing its breaking point" and "no city official, advocate, or court could have contemplated" how to manage the mass illegal immigration.

"The city’s prior practices, which never contemplated the busing of thousands of people into New York City, must be reassessed," Adams said. His comments came after his administration failed to bed and shelter roughly 60 of the migrants who were recently bused into the city.

By October, Texan busses are landing in NYC as much as six to eight times a day. A total of 16,600 migrants have been relocated from border states since May.

As his shelter system has failed, Adams is nearing a deal with the Norwegian Cruise Line to house illegal immigrants, where they would be able to come and go as they pleased until the city government could move them into a more permanent shelter system.

The cruise ship idea is expected to be less expensive than erecting another tent city. Adams is currently building a tent city at Orchard Beach in the Bronx to help with the influx of illegal immigrants and it is expected to cost $15 million.

Several far-left Democrats on the City Council said that Adams was using the migrant crisis to illegally build the tent city. Their position was that because New York is a right-to-shelter city the arriving border crossers should be placed in the shelter system, which is over capacity.

"There is space and beds to house everyone safely and humanely in the city,” Councilmember Shahana Hanif said, while not clarifying where the space and beds would come from.
