On Friday, the Nebraska State Legislature passed the "Let Them Grow Act," a bill that bans abortions after 12 weeks and bans child sex changes, and during the bill's final debate, far-left pro-abortion and pro-trans activists assaulted police while protesting at the Nebraska State Capitol building.

Surveillance video shows one protester wearing a rainbow-colored skirt allegedly rushing police and punching one state trooper in the chest. The Daily Mail reports the protestors also threw bloody tampons on the floor of the Capitol building and a total of six were arrested.

Local news reports the protestors were attempting to rush the balcony overlooking the floor of the proceedings.

33-year-old Sara Crawford was arrested and charged with obstructing a peace officer and 40-year-old Benjamin Buras was arrested for trespassing and resisting arrest and over the incident with the state trooper.

Additionally, 36-year-old Maghie Miller-Jenkins, 25-year-old Mar Lee and 24-year-old Lucia Salinas were arrested for allegedly disturbing the peace and obstructing a government operation. 56-year-old Danna Seevers was arrested for disobeying a lawful order and all six were booked into the Lancaster County Jail, according to the state patrol website.

In February, a collection of detransitioned individuals, who underwent sex changes and then said they regretted that decision, testified in February in favor of the bill, which was proposed by State Sen. Kathleen Kauth of Millard. The bill bans medical professionals from prescribing  cross-sex hormones  and puberty blockers to gender-confused minors under the age of 19.

One detransitioned young woman, Luka Hein, said, "At 16, the very first medical intervention I ever had was a double mastectomy. And a few months later, I was put on cross sex hormones. My parents were baited with the threat of me committing suicide despite the fact that I maintained I was never suicidal. They were told 'would you rather have a dead daughter or living son?' These are not the words of a medical professional but the words of an activist. I was just a teenager who needed actual help, not surgery. I needed that chance to grow up safe and whole. But it was taken away from me in the name of gender-affirming care. I will have to live with this forever."

In March, two Nebraska Senators vowed to filibuster the bill. Senator Michaela Cavanaugh filibustered for three weeks but gave up and said the vote would show how some have "blood on their hands." Cavanaugh went on a rant over the bill on Friday that went viral.

Republican Governor Jim Pillen has said that he intends to sign the bill.
