23-year-old Johnathan Jhovanni Hernandez of Avon Park, Florida was arrested on Tuesday and charged with 1,182 counts of possessing child pornography along with four supplemental charges for also having beastiality porn.

According to the Daily Mail, Florida police said the amount of child pornography was the most ever found in possession of a single American. The Highlands County Sheriff's Office said, "At that time... the investigation was just getting started and there would likely be more charges. What we should have said was there would likely be A LOT more charges - like more than anyone in our county ... ever.'

The 1,182 counts were based on material found on only one of Hernandez's devices, and authorities confiscated a total of 15 which could reveal more illegal material in his possession.

"There is no telling how many charges he could face if detectives went through all the devices. Detectives say Hernandez's collection of child porn is the largest they have ever seen," the sheriff's office added.

According to local news, the Florida police Special Victims Unit had been investigating Hernandez since August of last year after a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. That led detectives to his Discord account.

Discord is an instant messenger-like app that, according to its website, "is a voice, video, and text chat app that's used by tens of millions of people ages 13+ to talk and hang out with their communities and friends."

On December 29, Hernandez was arrested and his initial charges were "two counts of possession of child pornography, two counts of transmitting child pornograpy, and one count of using a two-way communication device to facilitate a felony," reports the Daily Mail.

Hernandez was then released on bail and authorities performed a search of his home, which produced the 15 suspicious devices, of which only one produced the images.

Hernandez could face life in prison if found guilty, and is being held on $2.4 million bond in the meantime.
