Political commentator Paul Joseph Watson tweeted on Sunday an example of the UK government's huge hypocrisy regarding their new strict lockdown policies:

"Londoners will be arrested if they try to leave the country, but 5 flights from Brazil (over 7 million COVID cases) will be landing at Heathrow within the next 10 minutes. Lunacy."

It's worth clearing up that in this case, it's actually only one plane full of people, and that the other flight numbers are due to code-sharing arrangements between two or more airlines.

However, the point remains that international traffic into the UK remains heavy, despite the current situation both within the UK and often in other countries from which trips are originating.

UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson has famously just implemented very strict lockdown measures in his country, in some areas approaching total lockdown. These measures will make it all but impossible for a large proportion of British families to celebrate the holidays as they were expecting to do so.

Aside from pointing out that the different airlines and flight numbers are due to codeshares, here are some of the other comments left to the tweet:

"Being imprisoned inside your own country is a serious violation of foundational principles of international law."

"Almost as if it isn't about a virus."

"Just as Wuhan flights continued into London past the first lockdown.  Something's not right."
