CGI based on the video game Final Fantasy VII interrupted a broadcast at a virtual event from the Italian senate on Monday, with 3D images of the characters having sex in full view of Italian politicians, academics, and even a Nobel Prize winner.

VICE reports that the video featured 3D porn of Final Fantasy VII character Tifa Lockhart having sex with a male character for a few seconds before the hosts realized the interruption and scrambled to eject the person streaming the video.

“About the results of the medical and scientific research, together with their fast accessibility and their reliability...” said a speaker, before being interrupted by pornographic sounds and visuals.

“What is this?,” one of the senators asked.

“There’s a person that has snuck in—I apologize. If the other director please can help me kick out this person,” one of the event organizers said, according to VICE.

Footage of the interruption can be found on Italian tabloid Dagospia.

The event, which was held at the Palazzo Giustiniani in the Italian Senate was titled “For a transparent PA, open data for the political decision-maker,” featuring a host of politicians from the country’s Five Star Movement party, physicist Giorgio Parisi, who was awarded the Nobel Prize in 2021 for physics, and  several other academics in economics, sociology, communications, and IT.

The Italian senator who hosted the event, Maria Laura Mantovani, said that she intended to lodge a police report over the disturbance.

"Yes, I'm making a report to the police. A porno film suddenly aired on the monitor of the conference we were holding at Palazzo Giustiniani , in the Senate,” said Mantovani in an interview with Italian outlet AdnKronos.

"This afternoon there was a very serious episode, a real attack against which I express absolute disdain,” said the Five Star Movement senator. “During an online conference organized by me, and not by my colleague Senator Mario Turco as erroneously reported on some newspapers, someone broke in secretly by transmitting a video with pornographic content. I proceeded to report everything to the competent authorities so that they can proceed to identify the person responsible.”

The conference proceeded as planned following the interruption, with both the speakers and audience acting as if nothing had happened, AdnKronos reported.
