Following Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's speech on the Senate floor Thursday, Senator Joe Manchin reportedly told Schumer that his speech was "f*cking stupid" for attacking the GOP.

"Leader McConnell and Senate Republicans insisted they wanted a solution to the debt ceiling, but said Democrats must raise it alone. By going through a drawn out convoluted and risky reconciliation process that was simply unacceptable to my caucus, and yesterday Senate Republicans finally realized that their obstruction was not going to work," Schumer said during his speech on Thursday.

Manchin can be seen in the background putting his head in his hands at one point, and shaking his head at another.

"I thank very much thank my Democratic colleagues for our showing our unity in solving this Republican manufactured crisis. Despite immense opposition from Leader McConnell and members of his conference, our caucus held together, and we pulled our country back from the cliff's edge that Republicans tried to push us over," Schumer continued, as Manchin leaves the background of the video.

According to Punchbowl News, Manchin is quoted as saying Schumer's speech was "f*cking stupid."

"There was some last-minute drama, as well. Schumer went to the floor and harshly criticized Republicans for provoking the crisis," Punchbowl News wrote in their morning newsletter, according to the Daily Wire.

"Schumer won this round of his never-ending battle with McConnell, and he made sure everyone knew it. But Republicans — and Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.) — didn't like the tone of Schumer's remarks. Senate Minority Whip John Thune complained personally to Schumer on the floor, while Sens. Mike Rounds (R-S.D.) and Mitt Romney (R-Utah) complained to reporters," the newsletter continued.

"Manchin told Schumer the speech was 'f*cking stupid,' according to four sources. Then Manchin complained to reporters too. The incident doesn't really signify anything, except to show how tense everyone is in the Senate these days. And it's only going to get worse," the newsletter added.

Manchin has been vocal against the $3.5 trillion budget reconciliation plan, with advocates for the bill kayaking to his houseboat to protest his stance on the bill.

Alongside Manchin, Senator Kyrsten Sinema, another vocal opposition of the hefty spending bill, has been harassed by advocates of the bill. Protestors followed Sinema into the bathroom of Arizona Statue University and harassed her on one occasion, and on another occasion, a protestor harassed Sinema on an airplane.
