On Sunday, a man was attacked after expressing his frustration over yet another one of Oakland's infamous sideshows, in which vehicles did donuts around a busy intersection, blocking traffic in all directions.

Footage of the brutal beating was uploaded to social media and shows the man being mobbed by a crowd of people and subsequently beaten until he lay unconscious on the sidewalk.

According to KTVU, the incident took place at the intersection of 34th Street and Adeline Street in Oakland's Clawson neighborhood. Mid-way through the sideshow, the man found himself in the middle of the action, with a vehicle doing donuts around him as he tried to cross the road.

In the footage, he can be seen throwing what appears to be a red bucket at the vehicle in frustration before moving to the side of the road. In retaliation, a group of men ran up and pushed him to the ground before repeatedly kicking and punching him in the face, stomach, and back.

While the beating was being carried out, the crowd of people cheered, recording it all with their phones. "Knocked out cold!" one man exclaimed.

Following the initial attack, one member of the crowd pulled the unconscious man up by his belt into a child's pose, before winding up and kicking him in the backside. Another placed the red bucket on his head. Instead of helping the victim, others in the crowd simply laughed before returning to the action in the intersection.

Oakland city councilmember Noel Gallo urged members of the public not to "interfere" with the dangerous sideshows, suggesting that people should call the police instead.

"We're not trying to criminalize," Gallo said. "We're trying to protect the residents of Oakland."

As KTVU reports, during the same sideshow, a vehicle slammed into a fire hydrant, causing a geyser-like stream of water to shoot into the sky.
