A young girl in Ohama, Nebraska has been recovering after being viciously attacked by a dog belonging to her mother's boyfriend last month.

Lillianna, 4, suffered various injuries to her entire body, including having her scalp "torn off."

According to KETV, the incident took place around 2 pm on February 20 at an industrial park near 135th and L Street. When first responders arrived on scene, they found Lillianna and transported her to the hospital.

The young girl's mother, Danielle Stratman, allegedly tried to hide from police, even going so far as changing out of her blood-stained clothes and stashing them under a bed. She was eventually found and arrested for obstruction. It was also discovered Stratman had been given a No Contact Order by a judge after being arrested for child abuse and domestic assault earlier in the month.

Her boyfriend, Greg Preister, was also arrested for obstruction, and hit with a slew of citations related to the dangerous nature of his pet.

The cane corso mastiff mix was initially missing, but authorities eventually tracked it down. Preister voluntarily surrendered the animal to the Nebraska Humane Society.

"We immediately euthanized the dog and sent the tissue out for testing due to the severity of the injuries and where they were located," the NHS' Pam Wiese said in a statement to KETV. "It needs to be expedited because the injuries were very close to the brain."

A GoFundMe was set up by Lillianna's great aunt, Kim. It has since raised upwards of $10,000.

Kim described the extent of her grand niece's injuries, explaining that "her scalp was torn off, her cheek bone was broken, she has torn ligaments in her neck and stitches all over her body."

"She's also going to need therapy for the trauma," Kim added, noting that Lillianna was born with Spina Bifida.

Kim went on to lament Stratman's actions, pointing out that, "as some of you know, [the attack] wouldn't have happened if the mother had not violated a no contact order while the child was being babysat by her Grandmother."
