Shocking new aerial footage shows the moment a column of far-left extremists moved in on a future police training facility in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday evening.

The group, most of whom were sporting black bloc, proceeded to set fire to construction equipment and attack officers. 23 people, including a member of the Southern Poverty Law Center, were arrested and charged with domestic terrorism in connection with their involvement in the incident.

In the footage, a steady stream of people at least five wide and fifty deep descended on the training facility in a coordinated fashion. Upon entering, they dispersed, with many moving toward officers.

After realizing that they were under attack, officers fled to the other side of the street where a staging area was set up for the police.

As The Post Millennial Senior Editor Andy Ngo reports, the violent attacks were organized well in advance, with their direct actions being promoted on the Defend ATL Forest Twitter account weeks before the incident took place.

Following the incident on Sunday, the City of Atlanta released a public statement on the matter, decrying the actions of extremists.

"A group of violent agitators used the cover of a peaceful protest of the proposed Atlanta Public Safety Training Center to conduct a coordinated attack on construction equipment and police officers," the city wrote, adding that the group destroyed numerous items with "rocks, bricks, Molotov cocktails, and fireworks."

"The illegal actions of the agitators could have resulted in bodily harm," the city continued, pointing out that officers "exercised restraint and used non-lethal enforcement to conduct arrests."

Noting that there were more protests planned for this week, the city urged those involved to "remain peaceful."
