Neil Young says Joe Rogan 'purposefully' spread Covid 'misinformation'

The "Heart of Gold" singer did not comment on the reports of myocarditis as a side effect of the vaccine as Moderna and Pfizer have launched clinical trials to track how pervasive the heart problem has become in young adults and teens.

In November of 2022, Canadian musician Neil Young went on the Howard Stern Show to again falsely claim that Joe Rogan was "purposely" putting out "misinformation" about Covid on his podcast, causing the 77-year-old rocker to take his music off of Spotify.

Young told Stern, "So these people were distressed by the fact that Spotify was doing this misinformation with some show they had. And I listened to it and I did and they were saying he purposely is saying the stuff that he knows isn't true. About Covid And people are dying you know."

Young had told Stern that he had "woke up one morning and somebody I heard somebody saying there was some scientists were saying something about Covid or some doctors and they were saying something about Covid and how many people were dying in hospitals and misinformation."

Young said the "distressed" people he was listening to were "nurses and everything and these people are with these people who are dying."

In January of 2022, Young removed his music from Spotify after criticizing the platform for hosting The Joe Rogan Experience. At the time, Rogan had spoken to both Robert Malone and

Peter McCullough, two doctors who had expressed skepticism over the efficacy and safety of the various Covid vaccines.

At the time, Young wrote an open letter demanding that Spotify take down Rogan or his music library be removed from the site.

Young wrote, "I am doing this because Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines – potentially causing death to those who believe the disinformation being spread by them, Please act on this immediately today and keep me informed of the time schedule."

"I want you to let Spotify know immediately TODAY that I want all my music off their platform. They can have Rogan or Young. Not both," he added.

As of January 2023, Neil Young's music is not on Spotify and the Joe Rogan Experience puts out new episodes every week.

In October, evidence emerged that the vaccines were not as effective as experts previously said, specifically with regard to their ability to prevent transmission of Covid.  Pfizer executive Janine Small said in an EU hearing that her company didn’t know if the Covid-19 mRNA vaccine it had developed would prevent transmission, despite being marketed that it would.

Former White House Covid response coordinator Dr. Deborah Birx said in July that she had known that the Covid-19 vaccines "were not going to protect against infection," and added, "we overplayed the vaccines."

Reports of myocarditis as a side effect of the Covid vaccine emerged almost immediately after the vaccine rollouts and persisted through 2022. Symptoms of the illness include shortness of breath, chest pain, rapid heart rate.

After two years of studies, including those done by the FDA, reporting that myocarditis as a side effect from taking the mRNA-based Covid vaccine, Moderna and Pfizer have launched clinical trials to track how pervasive the heart problem has become in young adults and teens.
