York Regional Police have just seized 73 stolen luxury vehicles with a market value of more than $4.5 million.

The seizure is the culmination of a covert operation that has been going on for more than two months now, as police slowly infiltrated the organization.

According to CTV News, there are also 32 other vehicles that were allegedly stolen by an organized group of criminals and shipped to Nigeria and Ghana.

The vehicles were being held at a secret location in Mississauga.

Abu Sadiq Ayi, 41, Michael Atta, 32, Prince Boateng, 42, and David Ansong, 40, all of Toronto, are now facing charges including theft of a motor vehicle over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 and trafficking in said property, and their dates in court are pending.

"Our investigators have been working tirelessly to identify those responsible for the many thefts of high-end vehicles in York Region," said Jim MacSween, chief of the York Regional Police.
