Samantha Bee's late night television program Full Frontal has been canceled after seven seasons on the air.

The Wall Street Journal reported Monday that the show was dropped due to a recent restructuring and overhaul by parent company Warner Bros. after its merger with the Discovery channel.

Bee's show was consistently one of the lowest rated among late night programming. Full Frontal's low ratings were highlighted in 2021 and 2022 when Gutfield! on Fox News began consistently beating its late night competition. Gutfield! outperformed legacy shows such as The Tonight Show at the same time Full Frontal and The Daily Show were hovering at the bottom with a few hundred thousand viewers a night.

Bee's cancellation follows several other cost-cutting decisions by new Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslov. According to Deadline, programs such as The Big D and Chad were canceled along with high profile shows in development with Damon Wayons and JJ Abrams.

Full Frontal was considered "rotten" according to viewer rating aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes with an audience score of 25 percent.

The former general manager of TNT, TBS, and truTV,  Brett Weitz was dropped by Warner Bros Discovery directly before Bee. Weitz had been Bee's defender over the past several years.

Deadline wrote that Bee's cancellation "is a blow for diversity in the late-night space"

According to Variety, Bee brought an "aggressive and saucy voice" to late night and was "one of the few programs led by a female point-of-view."

In 2018 Samantha Bee called Ivanka Trump a "feckless c*nt" for not pressuring her father, then President Donald Trump, to govern the way Bee wanted.

TBS said in a statement, "As we continue to shape our new programming strategy, we’ve made some difficult, business-based decisions. Full Frontal With Samantha Bee will not return to TBS."

"We are proud to have been the home to Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and thank Sam, and the rest of the Emmy-nominated team for their groundbreaking work. We celebrate this extraordinarily talented cast and crew and look forward to exploring new opportunities to work with them in the future."

Bee got her start as a Daily Show correspondent and moved the filming of Full Frontal to her home in the Massachusetts woods during the Covid-19 pandemic. She never returned to her NYC studio and kept the crew filming at her house until the moment she was canceled.
