Video footage of two bearded males explaining to women what feminism is while simultaneously questioning the existence of “biological women” has surfaced on social media.

In the video, the bearded males adorned with jewelry and sparkly makeup attempt to explain to their audience what the derogatory slur TERF (Trans-Exclusionary Radical Feminist) means, and the beliefs that this group of feminists hold.

First up is artist TeeKee, a they/them/theirs enby (non-binary), who states that “TERFs, or trans exclusionary radical feminists, believe that in order to be a woman you need to have been assigned female at birth” or be a “biological woman.” This male who, like every single other human being on the planet, was brought into the world by a woman put air quotes around the term biological woman.

A less offensive term for the group of women being described is gender critical feminists. Those who hold gender critical beliefs believe that in order for a person to be a woman, she must be born female and survive into adulthood. Gender critical people, however, do not believe that anyone is “assigned” a sex at birth, but rather than sex is observed either before or at birth.

“They don't believe that trans women are women, and they see them as a threat to womanhood, which is why they oppose trans women in women-only spaces like women's restrooms and women's sports,” continued TeeKay.

Here TeeKay is half correct. It is true that gender critical feminists do not believe transwomen are women because they believe that transwomen are male and women are female, but it is inaccurate to say that they believe trans-identified males are a threat to womanhood.

Gender critical feminists hold the belief that because males commit almost all sex offences, and females make up almost all of their victims, female-only spaces are a necessity for the safety and protection of women and girls.

On the subject of sports, it is a well-documented fact that male athletes have a significant sporting advantage over female athletes in most sporting categories, and that this advantage does not disappear after taking cross-sex hormones and suppressing testosterone. Therefore, excluding males from female sports is about fairness, not bigotry.

Next in the video is a female trans activist who suggests that women holding such beliefs endanger trans-identified males and “fosters violence and hatred” towards them.

“Although the word feminist is in the acronym, they're not feminist at all,” continued the female activist. “True feminists are for all women.”

Gender critical feminists disagree with this assertion, believing that true feminism is for all females and does not include males.

“Oddly enough, TERFs are generally accepting of trans men, but that's because they see them as biological women, which is problematic on its own,” viewers are told. It’s difficult to see why this is odd given the fact that “trans men” are adult human females, and gender critical feminism fights for the rights of all females.

“Keep in mind that they are not to be confused with trans inclusive feminists who accept trans women as women and understand the importance of intersectionality and feminism,” said the second bearded male. “Please share this post to spread knowledge.”
