Tucker Carlson dominates cable news ratings, scores highest rated week of 2021

Fox News has marked another week of dominating the cable news ratings, with Tucker Carlson Tonight marking its best week of 2021 following Carlson's interview with recently aquicetted Kyle Rittenhouse.

The Fox News Channel has marked another week of dominating the cable news ratings, with key show Tucker Carlson Tonight marking its best week of 2021 following Carlson's interview with recently aquicetted Kyle Rittenhouse.

Overall, the Fox News Channel was the top cable news network in total day and primetime viewers for the week of November 22 through November 28. According to Nielsen Media Research, this week marked the 41st week the channel has been number one in basic cable with total daytime viewers.

That week also marked the 15th consecutive week that the channel defeated both CNN and MSNBC combined in all categories.

In the primetime slot, 8-11pm, Fox News averaged 2,139,000 viewers, 328,000 in the key age demographic of 25 to 54-years-old, and 222,000 in the 18 to 49 demographic, defeating its cable news competition.

During the day, Fox News brought in 1,310,000 viewers, 218,000 in the 25-54 demographic, and 145,000 in the 18-49 demographic.

The channel also averaged 14 of the top 15 cable news shows with total viewers, and the top 12 news shows for the demographic of 25 to 54.

In primetime FNC secured 61 percent of the cable news share with total viewers, and 55 percent share with viewers in total day.

Tucker Carlson Tonight brought in 4,249,000 total viewers, 744,000 in the 25 to 54 demographic, and 500,000 in the 18-49 demographic.

The show's Monday broadcast of Carlson's interview with Rittenhouse brought in 5.1 million viewers, marking the show's highest watched episode this year.

The Five finished in second behind Tucker Carlson Tonight with 3,455,000 viewers, and Hannity came in third with an average of 3,290,000 viewers.

Gutfield!, Fox News' late night show, averaged 1,953,000 viewers, and 396,000 in the 25 to 54 demographic. The show beat out competing late night shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live, which averaged 1,368,000 viewers, and The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, which averaged 1,670,000 viewers.

The show also beat The Late Show With Stephen Colbert in the 24 to 54 age demographic, which brought in just 390,000 viewers.

Gutfield! Also topped every CNN and MSNBC program with total viewers and in the key demographic of 25 to 54.

Over at CNN, the channel had its lowest-rated primetime week in total viewers and the 25-54 demographic since December 2019, according to Nielsen. CNN's Anderson Cooper 360 saw its worst rated week of the year in total viewers.

MSNBC also marked a low week, recording its lowest rated week of 2021 in weekly and prime-time total viewers.
