The View co-host and occasional CNN commentator Ana Navarro made some bold claims on Thursday regarding Ron DeSantis's sweeping win of the Florida gubernatorial race, accusing the governor of "gaming the system".

"He turned Florida into an unlevel playing field," Navarro claims. "They changed the election laws, making it harder to vote by mail [and] he created an election police."

A part of DeSantis's promise to stregthen election integrity was to strengthen voter ID requirements for mail-in ballots. He also created an Election Crimes and Security Office to help stamp out voting fraud in the state.

The clip was posted to Twitter on Thursday afternoon and within a few hours had received over three hundred thousand views. Some users were quick to scold her for her accusations.

"Isn’t this basically another form of election denial? Which, I’ve been reliably told, is the end of democracy," one user wrote.

This is not the first time that Navarro has gone after DeSantis. In April she made statements on an episode of The View that his policies were "anti-black ... anti-gay ... [and] anti-American. It's what happens in Venezuela. It's what happens in Nicaragua."

Some of Navarro's fellow co-hosts have also taken shots at the governor. Regarding his elimination of COVID-19 restrictions, Joy Behar referred to him as a "negligent, homicidal sociopath" who's only trying to "appeal to his white supremacist base."

DeSantis has remained wildly popular in his state, and his popularity has steadily increased since he was first elected Governor of Florida in 2018. His dedication to parental rights, his rejection of draconian COVID-19 restrictions, and his unwaivering defence of American rights and freedoms have made him popular across the entire nation.

Despite claiming to be a lifelong member of the Republican party, Navarro has been supportive of Democrats in the last few years. She voted against DeSantis twice, and voted for Joe Biden in the 2020 elections.
