Cable television's most widely viewed broadcaster, Tucker Carlson, took shots at Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Tuesday in a segment blasting leftists "rules for thee, but not for me" throughout worldwide stay-at-home orders.

Specifically, Tucker criticized Trudeau for telling Canadians to stay at home during quarantine last month, even urging Canadians to not visit their cottage properties while social distancing measures were at their peak around Easter. Meanwhile, Trudeau decided to make his way across provincial lines to his home province of Quebec, to visit his family at their lake house.

"When you make the rules, that's not even a category. Just ask Justin Trudeau, the preachy prime minister of Canada. On April 12, Trudeau released a video commanding Canadians to stay in their homes for Easter," said Tucker, who then showed a video of Trudeau saying that staying indoors was what Jesus would do.

"That's the kind of quarantine Jesus endorses. Love means staying home; for you, not for them," quipped Carlson. "Not long after recording the video you just saw, Trudeau left the capital and went all the way to Quebec, to visit his family at their lake house. Just like you'd want to, but you're not, so stop complaining."

When Trudeau was asked about his decision to break his own rules over the Easter holiday, the prime minister had a non-answer that only he could give.

The prime minister wasn't just breaking his own arbitrarily set rules, either. Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada's top medical officer, also echoed sentiments urging Canadians to stay home and to resist the urge to head to the cottage over the holidays—a message that Trudeau decided to ignore, because he missed his family.
