Just after 2:00 a.m. on Friday morning, a shootout during a robbery attempt in the affluent Hollywood Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles, California, left one person dead and another four wounded. The multimillion-dollar home where the fatal shooting happened overnight is the residence of 39-year-old Nova Fashion CEO Richard Saghian, according to property records.

The incident occurred at Blue Jay Way near Thrasher Ave where two of the suspects were in an Audi sedan who spotted two men on the street visiting Saghian. According to CBS Los Angeles, the two men in the vehicle then stopped the men on the street and were in the process of robbing the victims.

A security guard witnessed the attempted robbery and a gunfight ensued at that point. After all the shots had been fired, all five men involved had been shot at least once. The two suspects fled the scene in the Audi, driven by a third person. The car made it as far as Santa Monica Blvd and Doheny Dr. in West Hollywood.

Police pulled the vehicle over to find one of the suspects dead and the other wounded. Authorities arrested the driver and placed the still-living suspect in an ambulance.  The two robbery victims are listed as being in stable condition, although the prognoses are unclear. The security guard is still reported as being in critical condition at the time of publication.
