Sen. Ron Johnson (R-WI) and journalist Andy Ngo have received the coveted Annie Taylor Award for courage by standing up to the enemies of freedom.

The annual award honors schoolteacher Annie Edison Taylor, the first to survive a trip over Niagara Falls in a barrel. It's given to recipients who exhibit great courage by "going over the ledge when others would be afraid to even go near it."

Ngo, who has been assaulted more than once while reporting on the far-left's criminal activities, delivered moving testimony on how his refugee family's love for America motivates him to expose Antifa's anti-American violence.

"Thank you to the David Horowitz Freedom Center for awarding myself and Wisconsin's @SenRonJohnson with the Annie Taylor Award. It is an honor," Ngo tweeted with a picture of himself and the senator holding the award.

Johnson has been deep diving into the Capitol riot controversy, calling out the Justice Department for its "unequal" treatment of Jan. 6 defendants compared to last summer's Black Lives Matter rioters, and questioning the FBI's alleged role.

Other speakers included Project Veritas founder James O'Keefe, investigative journalist Christopher Rufo, and Prager University founder Dennis Prager.

Past award winners include conservative student organization Young America's Foundation president Ron Robinson and Milwaukee County sheriff David Clarke.

The sold-out event during the David Horowitz Freedom Center's Restoration Weekend was held at The Breakers resort in Palm Beach, Florida.

It may be the last year that The Breakers hosts Restoration Weekend, according to conservative political site Powerline Blog. After more than two decades, "the hotel has told the Freedom Center that its events will no longer be welcome," the right-leaning blog stated, also listing an alternative venue for next year.

The David Horowitz Freedom Center is dedicated to the defense of free societies whose moral, cultural, and economic foundations are under attack by enemies both secular and religious, at home and abroad.
