BREAKING: Biden wants money 'to fend off the second pandemic', says all American babies should get Covid vax

President Joe Biden spoke on Tuesday to praise the US for being the first country in the world to offer Covid-19 vaccines to 6-month-olds. In addition to the announcement, he said that there are "enough doses" to distribute across the country, and said that all parents should get their babies vaccinated.

When asked by a reporter if more funding was needed to further curb the pandemic, Biden said "We do need more money. We don't just need more money for vaccines for children eventually. We need more money to fend off the second pandemic. There's going to be another pandemic. And that's not something the last outfit did very well as something we've been doing fairly well. That's why we need the money."

There has been substantial pushback against the baby doses, as there has been remarkably low death rates or complications for children under 5. Per the CDC, in the 0-1 age group, there have been 299 deaths during the course of the pandemic attributed to Covid, out of a total of 45,962 deaths in that age group. In the 1-4 demographic, there were 143 deaths attributed to Covid out of a total of 8,617 deaths in that age group.

Nonetheless, the Biden administration has pressed for children to be vaccinated. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has spoken against the vaccines for the youngest age group, with the guidance and backing of his Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo. In their view, the study that was done was not sufficient to determine that children should be vaccinated.

The study determined that the Covid vaccine did produce antibodies in young children, but did not track whether it actually prevented children from contracting the virus. In the early days of the vaccine rollout, it was believed that an mRNA vaccine against Covid protected the patient from contracting Covid. This quickly became apparently untrue.

DeSantis said that as regards the baby vaccine in Florida, "We recommend against it. We are not gonna have any programs where we're trying to jab 6-month-olds with mRNA, that's just not the reality."

He said further that people to look at the data in the clinical trial. "It is the weakest possible data that you could possibly see. Very small number of people, what the recommendation is from them, doesn't even track the outcomes." He said that was "no proven benefit to put a baby with an mRNA."

"We're confident that people can make their own judgements," he said, noting that the recommendation is to give the mRNA shot to "young babies and kids who have already recovered from Covid," and that there was no data on the efficacy of that.

Biden claimed that politics had no place in the discussion of whether or not babies should be vaccinated, and that "an official shouldn't get in the way and make it more difficult for parents who want their children to be vaccinated and want to protect them and those around them. This is no time for politics. To my parents been able to do everything they can to keep their children safe. Together" he said.

The US is the first country to implement a vaccine program for babies, but not because it was simply the fastest to do so, but because most other countries do not see a need or a reason to create a program like this.
