Donald Trump is set to take part in a live town hall hosted by X in partnership with NewsNation. The former president's team accepted the invitation, though the date and exact details have not yet been revealed.

Fellow presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has also confirmed he will take part in a separate town hall on the social media platform. The invitation was extended to Joe Biden as well; however his campaign has not yet agreed to take part.

"This will be interesting," Musk wrote in a post on X.

Two sources familiar with the matter told Axios that both Trump and Kennedy have agreed, in principle, to sit down with a moderator and answer questions submitted both before and during the events, which will be titled, "The People's Town Hall."

Trump and Kennedy will not see the questions beforehand; the moderators will decide what can and cannot be asked. Who the moderator will be is unclear, however they are expected to include at least one NewsNation host.

The idea was reportedly drummed up by X CEO Linda Yaccarino, who went to NewsNation's parent company, Nexstar, and asked if they'd be interested. She is said to have wanted to increase X's presence as the go-to platform for political discussions.

This is just one of the events set to take place in the lead up to the election, with Trump and Biden scheduled to debate one another on June 27. Kennedy has fought to be included, however it remains unclear whether he will join the two top contenders on stage.

This is a breaking story and will be updated.
