Presler, a conservative activist who runs Early Vote Action, is notable for his ongoing grassroots efforts, including in Wisconsin ahead of the pivotal supreme court race in that state. Turning Point Action has been working on data, technology and ballot chase theory with Presler and Early Vote Action for the 2024 cycle.
“I’m thrilled to be partnering in an even bigger way with Charlie [Kirk] and Tyler [Bowyer] and the whole team at Turning Point Action,” Presler said.
"They are one of the few grassroots orgs that truly understands the urgency behind early voting and ballot chasing efforts. I know Wisconsin well and I love its people, and I know what it’s going to take to win this state. Sadly, the RNC and other conservative organizations and PACs didn’t step up to the plate in 2022 and 2023, but TPAction is showing real leadership ahead of 2024. If we don’t win Wisconsin, we don’t win at all. It’s that simple. This money is critical in helping us hire the necessary field staff and equipping them to canvas this state and bank ballots like never before. Their partnership is a game changer."
The $5 million commitment is Turning Point Action’s largest to date and the first of the 2024 election cycle. The organization is engaging in voter registration, early voting, mobile app rollout, data collection, and community get-out-the-vote efforts to bank as many votes as possible ahead of 2024’s election.
"Turning Point Action’s GOTV investment in the state of Wisconsin takes our commitment to ballot chasing, as well as our collaboration with Scott, to a whole new level," said Charlie Kirk, Founder of Turning Point Action.
"Scott has earned the trust and respect of the grassroots in Wisconsin and Turning Point Action has the support staff, the infrastructure, and the data operations now in place to assemble a massive vote chasing and early voting operation at a scale that we believe can make a real, determinative difference," he added. "We have a lot of work still to do, but it’s time for conservative orgs to put real dollars into action, and hopefully this is just the beginning of what we’re able to do in Wisconsin and beyond."
Turning Point Action is also raising money to expand its field presence in battleground states across the country, with a specific focus on Arizona, Georgia, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin.
The organization’s goal is to place "Ballot Chasers" in each of these states that engage with low propensity voters that may not go out to vote. Ballot chasing efforts in these states will vary depending on local election laws.
Turning Point Action COO Tyler Bower believes Georgia, Arizona, and Wisconsin are key for Republican success in the next election cycle.
“The math in 2024 is pretty simple and it’s what the left has isolated for years. If we hold North Carolina, Florida, Ohio, and Iowa, which I believe we will, we need Georgia, Arizona, and Wisconsin to win," he said.
"We plan on pouring into these three states and our now expanded collaboration and partnership with Scott in Wisconsin is just the first domino to fall into place. The grassroots must come out in 2024 if we are going to win, and TPAction is uniquely positioned to tackle this challenge like no other organization in the country.”
Turning Point Action plans to issue further announcements on ballot chasing efforts at its Turning Point Action Conference, ACTCON 2023, which will take place on July 15 and 16 in West Palm Beach, featuring prominent names like Donald Trump, Steve Bannon, and Vivek Ramaswamy.
The commitment comes as a new report from NBC News on Thursday morning revealed holes within the Republican party’s voter turnout operations, specifically focusing on door-knocking operations.
NBC News reported that voter contact efforts that have been at the center of conservative political operations for years are filled with issues that include "fraudulent and untrustworthy data entries" as well as "allegations of lax hiring practices and a lack of accountability."
Issues have risen in Georgia, where a large number of paper entries were seen as canvassers had to meet larger goals as the 2022 election neared closer, as well as in other states, where one source said that background checks were not properly conducted on paid canvassers, resulting in violent felons being employed.
