During his latest presser in Palo Alto, California, President Biden delivered remarks about climate change. He claimed his most important commitment "by 2020 [is to] have conserved 30% of all the lands and waters the United States has jurisdiction over and simultaneously reduce emissions to blunt climate impact."

Governor Gavin Newsom (D) introduced Biden's remarks about California, saying that he wanted to "brag a little bit" about the state.

Newsom said, "I think what makes California unique and special is demonstrable exampled in the work we have done to tackle, head on, the issue of climate change."

Giving similar accolades to Biden, Newsom said, "there is simply no president in modern American history that has done more to deliver on the promise of addressing, head on, the issue of climate change than President Joe Biden."

Newsom added that California brings many new jobs in the green energy sector and that the state prides itself on growing its economy with green energy. However, a new study that was put out by the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce in June of this year found that "California's Competitiveness [is] in Question."

After Newsom, a student introduced Biden. He began by giving recognition to California by focusing on green energy production and being "climate resilient." He then introduced the topic of climate change.

"Resiliency matters, you know I've toured many sites across the country that clearly show climate change is a genuine exi- is the existential threat to humanity. The existential threat to humanity," Biden said.

Later, when addressing the goals of solving the climate crisis, Biden made the mistake of claiming these goals will be met by 2020.

He also addressed the topic of wildfires in Canada and told the audience that Californian technology is being used in Canada to help fight wildfires.

Towards the end of the speech, Biden said that some of the "MAGA Republicans" in Congress are trying to "undo all the progress" that has been made in the first couple years of his presidency by "holding the country hostage over the debt limit."

Biden touted his "Invest in America" agenda, throughout the speech, which he said will cost the US an investment of "over 368 billion dollars."
