US President Donald Trump has just received his first briefing on an explosion that rocked downtown Nashville on Friday morning.

The explosion occurred on Second Avenue North in the heart of the city of Nashville, and it is considered to have been "deliberate" in nature.

According to local outlet Nashville News 4, three people were injured by the explosion, and they are being treated for their injuries, which are not considered to be life-threatening.

Judd Deere, the President's Deputy Assistant and the Deputy Press Secretary for the White House, had this to say on Twitter:

"President @realDonaldTrump has been briefed on the explosion in Nashville, Tennessee, and will continue to receive regular updates. The President is grateful for the incredible first responders and praying for those who were injured."

Deere also stated that the White House will continue receive regular updates throughout the day as more facts regarding the incident are made available.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and further information is expected to be forthcoming shortly.
