"Couple in front of me on flight refused to wear masks," the CNN political commentator tweeted. "They were tuned to 'Tucker' the whole time."

CNN political commentator Chris Cillizza recently took to Twitter to tell the world of his recent encounter with a couple who refused to wear masks while on a plane and had been watching Tucker Carlson's Fox News show the entire time.

"Couple in front of me on flight refused to wear masks," Cillizza said Friday night. "They were tuned to 'Tucker' the whole time," he added on Twitter.

Cillizza covers national politics, including the White House and Congress. He reports under the brand "The Point with Chris Cillizza," a political commentary show on CNN's official YouTube channel. With segment titles like "What does Majorie Taylor Greene do all day?" and "Elon Musk is no role model," Cillizza casts the light of his liberal opinion onto hot topics of the current news cycle.

But unfortunately for the regularly mocked pundit, that light was not well received when it came to the viral tweet regarding Cillizza's fellow passengers. Instead, numerous Twitter users replied, mocking Cillizza's reaction.

The Federalist editor-in-chief Mollie Hemingway sarcastically expressed concern for Cillizza's mental well-being. "Hope you'll be ok," she tweeted.

Rita Panahi, an opinion columnist, similarly couldn't help but mock the CNN personality's woes. "Just here for the ratio, you hysterical arseclown."

Twitter account Libs of TikTok offered up tongue-in-cheek condolences for Cillizza's harrowing experience: "Did you survive though? Sounds traumatic."

Cillizza has a tendency to trend on social media while critics poke fun at his takes.

CNN published an April 2020 poorly-aged video titled, "President Andrew Cuomo? Maybe," where Cillizza fawned over the now-disgraced former New York governor who resigned amid a sexual misconduct scandal. Cillizza suggested that Cuomo, the brother of his now-fired CNN colleague Chris Cuomo, should consider a run for president. Cillizza declared at the time, "There absolutely will be a chance in the future for Andrew Cuomo to consider running for president. Period."
