Westwood One has confirmed that beginning May 24, conservative commentator Dan Bongino will be moving into the noon-3p (EST) weekday time slot, which was held by Rush Limbaugh for decades in an effort to pick up former Limbaugh affiliates. The new schedule will be starting May 24. Limbaugh passed away in February at 70 after battling Stage IV lung cancer.

Bongino’s podcast, which is the second-most listened-to conservative show in the country, is distributed via Westwood One and has been offered to radio stations and affiliates. According to Outkick, the deal is not signed but it expected to be completed soon.

The Dan Bongino Show will broadcast in markets including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, San Francisco, and Washington, DC, according to a press release.

Cumulus Media owns Westwood One and carried Limbaugh’s program on various affiliates. Limbaugh’s syndicator, Premiere Networks, has not yet announced what show it will offer affiliates for the 12-3 slot. Premiere continues to air a hybrid of guest hosts and taped Limbaugh segments picked to match current events.

According to a press release, "The Dan Bongino Show will tackle the hot political issues, debunking both liberal and Republican establishment rhetoric. As a former Secret Service agent and NYPD officer, Bongino is uniquely positioned to provide commentary and analysis that directly questions the philosophical underpinnings of both the Left and Big Government Republicans."

Bongino, who is also a Fox News contributor, was quoted in the same release. "I’m excited to embrace the immense power of radio to connect with my listeners live for three hours every day. This is an incredible privilege, and I pledge to honor the trailblazing work of those who came before me."

Last week, Bongino announced that he had received a clean bill of health on the Sean Hannity Show. Bongino had revealed in October that he had been diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma.

Westwood One president Suzanne Grimes said, "Dan is passionate and relatable, with a natural ability to connect with his audience. DAN has been on a meteoric rise since his podcast launched in 2019, and we look forward to watching his star continue to soar."

According to Outkick, Bongino’s Facebook page regularly ranks among the top-visited in the US. Bongino is also a part-owner of Rumble and Parler, the alternatives to YouTube and Twitter. It has not yet been determined where the video streaming component of Bongino’s radio show will air.
