Less than a day after rolling back mask mandates and restriction for fully vaccinated adults in Washington, DC, Mayor Muriel Bowser reversed course and backtracked on loosening mask restrictions.

Businesses can now require vaccination cards for entry and customers would be required to wear a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status which was not part of the previous rollback. The order stated that businesses must post signage on their entries that people cannot enter unless fully vaccinated against the coronavirus or wearing a mask.

According to the order, fully vaccinated against COVID-19 is defined as two weeks after receiving their second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, or two weeks after receiving the single-shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Friday night, Bowser issued an order that removed most mask requirements for people who are fully vaccinated against COVID. Fully vaccinated residents of DC can gather inside without a mask. Gathering without a mask outside is also allowed, but not for crowded events of venues. Travel quarantines for those who are fully vaccinated were also repealed.
