Dozens of protesters were arrested overnight on Thursday in Minneapolis, KSTP reports.

Demonstrators have taken to the streets in the wake of the deadly shooting of 23-year-old Dolal Bayle Idd by police on Wednesday night. Last night's demonstrations mark the second night of protests.

Idd is the first man to be killed by the Minneapolis police since the killing of George Floyd in late May.

Protesters gathered at the corner of East 36th Street and Cedar Avenue, where the fatal shooting took place. Most of the arrests, however, occurred downtown

According to police, Idd had open fired at officers manning a traffic stop. Officers returned fire, fatally striking Idd. The body camera footage appears to substantiate such claims.

Protesters, however, have insisted that police should have deescalated the situation, and that their actions are not fully vindicated by the footage.
