SpaceX and Tesla magnate Elon Musk is hitting back at Sen Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) after an ad campaign supporting her campaign attacked him directly.

"Let’s change the rigged tax code so The Person of the Year will actually pay taxes and stop freeloading off everyone else," the Democratic senator started the feud off, after Time Magazine had just named Musk "Man of the Year."

Musk responded promptly, telling the senator to "stop projecting!" and publishing an op-ed titled, "Elizabeth Warren is a fraud — Her lies about being Native American disqualify her from presidency, Senate."

"You remind me of when I was a kid and my friend’s angry Mom would just randomly yell at everyone for no reason. Please don’t call the manager on me, Senator Karen ?."

"And if you opened your eyes for 2 seconds, you would realize I will pay more taxes than any American in history this year. Don’t spend it all at once … oh wait you did already."

Warren's response (although technically, it could have come from one of her PACs and not directly from her) was to launch a series of multiple ads on Facebook and social media denigrating Musk, calling him a "freeloader" and saying he "whines like a baby."

Some estimates say that Sen. Warren spent as much as $45,000 on these ads in social media, in total.

Musk once again replied to her for free on his own Twitter account:

"This is such a deeply messed up lie to the American people. She is the one freeloading off taxpayers, while I’m paying the largest amount of tax of any individual in history. Is @SenWarren really someone we want as a US senator?"

Musk had previously got into a similar online spat with officials of the UN, when they told him he needed to "step up and end world hunger." He told them to open up their books and show him how the $6 billion they were asking for would really end world hunger.
