Facebook whistleblower Frances Haugen is to meet with the house committee responsible for investigating the January 6 riot at the US Capitol, CNN reports. The leftist activist "whistleblower" testified before Congress on Tuesday against her former employer and lambasted Facebook's use of artificial intelligence to catch hate speech and misinformation.

Haugen appeared on 60 Minutes last Sunday and slammed Facebook for lack of censorship, blamed the tech company for contributing to the attack on the US Capitol.

According to CNN, the committee wants Haugen to testify how Facebook was used to organize the January 6 riot and carry out an attack.

Haugen could testify before the House committee as early as Thursday, the network reports.

Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Monday that the committee will need to hear from Haugen after she appeared on 60 Minutes.

"According to this Facebook whistleblower, shutting down the civic integrity team and turning off election misinformation tools contributed to the Jan 6 insurrection," Rep. Schiff said. "The Select Committee will need to hear from her, and get internal info from Facebook to flesh out their role."

After the 60 Minutes segment aired, it was revealed that Haugen is closley working with former Obama operative, Bill Burton and his consulting firm, Bryson Gillette. Burton worked under the Obama administration as deputy press secretary. The former Facebook employee's communications team is allegedly seeking guidance from Burton.

In addition, Haugen was a member of the Facebook civic integrity team that worked to counter misinformation about the 2020 election. This team was responsible for covering up the Hunter Biden laptop scandal.
