Late Thursday night, 34-year-old Michael Gallo was found in the backyard of his Hamilton home suffering from multiple stab wounds. Gallo was then rushed to the hospital, where he died a short time later.

So far, the investigation has found that Gallo had just arrived at his house in the Main Street and Haddon Avenue-area after running a series of errands in his neighborhood. It was approximately 10 pm when the incident occurred.

According to the Hamilton Police Department, his fiancee discovered him suffering from his injuries and immediately called an ambulance.

Gallo leaves behind a one-month-old son.

Sargent-Detective Jim Callender, commenting on what is Hamilton's 13th homicide this year, told CTV News:

"We are looking into the circumstances of what happened prior to that stabbing... Currently we have our forensic unit there, they are processing the scene."

"We do have an individual who we are looking to speak with that was seen in the area at around that time," mentioned Callender, also stating that this individual is not a suspect, and is simply wanted for an interview.

The individual in question is male, approximately 5'9" in height, slender in appearance, and was wearing a black and grey hoodie, dark-colored sweat pants, and a blue mask.

Police are also searching for the murder weapon, which was not found anywhere at the scene.

This investigation is ongoing and people are encouraged to come forward with any relevant information to the Hamilton Police or to Crime Stoppers.
