George Washington University mandates COVID vaccine booster shots for all eligible students

All students are required to submit booster documentation by March 15, 2022 or they will be forbidden from registering for Spring and Summer classes, according to the email.

George Washington University announced in an email on Monday that all students will be required to get the COVID-19 vaccine booster shot by March as a condition to register for classes and attend in-person learning.

Students that choose not to get the COVID vaccine booster shot by Feburary 1, 2022 will have to undergo COVID testing and submit daily symptom monitoring questionairres. All students are required to submit booster documentation by March 15, 2022 or they will be forbidden from registering for Spring and Summer classes, according to the email.

The university explained that their decision to require proof of the booster shot aligns with recommendation from the Center for Disease Controls and Prevention (CDC).

The mandate does not apply for students with medical and religious exemptions.
