A GoFundMe page for a child with cancer has received tens of thousands of dollars in donations after a video showed the boy's apparent eviction of from a Ronald McDonald House in Vancouver, British Columbia.

Austin Furgason, from Kelowna, British Columbia, the father of a 4-year-old boy with leukemia who has been undergoing treatment since October, posted a video to Facebook showing a letter from Ronald McDonald House Charities – British Columbia & Yukon that made the announcement of the evictions.

The GoFundMe, which was set up in October when he received the diagnosis, has since exploded.

The initial $5,000 goal was far exceeded, having now received over $60,000 in donations.

The father of the child, Austin Furgason, wrote on the GoFundMe: "We love our boy and we trust God to see us through this and restore our family, however there is a financial burden as my wife had to leave her job and move to Vancouver for treatment, and care for him.

"Leukemia type (ALL) is the most common cancer in children but only 30 kids in BC get it each year, 40 years ago this would've been a death sentence; we feel really greatful [sic] to live in Canada for sure where we call a number and they bring us food and everything. Now it is a 90% survival rate."

The Post Millennial has reached out to the Furgasons for an update on the situation, though we have not received a response at the time of publishing.
