Here's a full list of Toronto pharmacies administering the AstraZeneca vaccine

The government of Ontario has released a list of pharmacies across the province which will be administering the AstraZeneca vaccine this week, CP24 reports.

Anyone born between 1957 and 1961, ages 60-64, may receive the vaccine from one of these pharmacies beginning on Friday. As evidence is lacking for the efficacy of the AstraZeneca vaccine on people over the age of 65, they are not included in the pilot program.

The province recently received 194,000 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine, and the government is now scrambling to administer them all before their expiry date on Apr 2.

Rick Hillier, the retired general leading Ontario's vaccine distribution, admitted that there are far from enough vaccines to reach everyone in the targeted age group, however.

"Our first allocation of AstraZeneca is 194,000. In that age group of 60 to 64 across Ontario there are one million people so clearly we don't nearly have enough vaccines to do all of that age group in this first batch," Hillier said.

"We are not sure of the next arrivals of AstraZeneca but you can be sure as soon as we get them, as soon as we know, we will publicize that and we will move it to our logistics pipeline and get it to pharmacies and family doctors and carry on along that same age group until we have finished all of those who are eligible and who want to have the vaccine."

Toronto mayor John Tory, however, described the acquisition of the vaccines as "a great step forward."

The government says that they will be opening their online registration portal to receive the vaccine on Monday as 120 mass immunization clinics are set to open across the province in March.
