Kamala slammed for comparing Jan 6 riot to 9/11 and Pearl Harbor

"Dates that occupy not only a place on our calendars, but a place in our collective memory: December 7, 1941, September 11, 2001 and January 6, 2021," Harris said.

Vice President Kamala Harris is being criticized following her and President Joe Biden's address to the nation on the one year anniversary of the riot at the Capitol building, after she equated the day to events at Pearl Harbor and in New York, DC, and Pennsylvania on September 11 that killed thousands of Americans.

"Certain dates echo throughout history, including dates that instantly remind all who have lived through them where they were, and what they were doing when our democracy came under assault," said Harris.

"Dates that occupy not only a place on our calendars, but a place in our collective memory: December 7, 1941, September 11, 2001 and January 6, 2021," Harris continued.

In response to Harris' comments, Twitter users quickly condemned her comparison of the dates, pointing out the thousands of deaths that occurred on the other dates.

One man, who said he is the son of a 9/11 survivor, said Harris' comparison of the dates was "a slap in the face to 9/11 survivors and heroes," like his mother.
