LeBron James said recently that his organization, "More Than a Vote," will be targeting the two Georgia Senate runoff elections.

The elections, scheduled to take place on Jan. 5, are considered to be key because if the Democrats win both seats they could deadlock the Senate at 50-50. This would allow for a de-facto majority in the event of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris being installed as President and Vice President, as the Vice President would get a tie-breaker vote.

"We're trying to figure out ways, right now, that we can continue to implement change in the communities, not only in my home community of Akron, Ohio, but communities all over America, and hopefully, create change in the world, as well," James said.

"So we're looking for opportunities — there's a huge Senate race in that's going on in Georgia coming up in January, so we're tackling that," said the basketball player.

According to CBS News, James also had words of praise for Stacey Abrams, the Georgia House Minority Leader, in her efforts to sway the vote, saying, "Stacey Abrams who is down there, is a monster. Shoutout Stacey, you're unbelievable."

There is no small controversy surrounding the vote in Georgia in general, and there are currently many legal actions in motion alleging many instances of election fraud in that state.
