A Tennessee man was arrested Friday night as Nashville Metro Police enforced a mask mandate.

Police reported having issued 16 citations for mask violations in the city Friday evening. One man was arrested after running from officers attempting to give him such a citation.

On Oct. 30, Governor Bill Lee extended an Executive order allowing mayors to mandate masks through the end of the year. Davidson county has adopted its mandate early on, and has yet to lift it.

In August, the city of Nashville made headlines after police arrested a 61 year old homeless man for not wearing a mask.

The same month, a Metro Nashville At-Large Council Member suggested during a health committee meeting that maskless individuals should be charged with murder.

Last month, The National File reported that a woman sporting a Trump shirt was arrested for being maskless, while surrounded by others also not complying with the mandate.
