Following a mass stabbing that left one person dead and injured six others at a library in North Vancouver, 28 year old Yannick Bandaogo has been charged with second-degree murder.

The woman who died was in her 20s, and has not been named. The other six victims' injuries vary in severity, but they are all expected to live, according to Global News.

According to The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team, Bandaogo remains in custody. He underwent surgery for self-inflicted wounds after stabbing himself at the scene.

In a media release, IHIT Sgt. Frank Jang said "His background history in BC and relationship to the victims, if any, is still being determined."

More details are expected to be released during a press conference to occur Monday.
