One-year-old girl dies after drowning in backyard swimming pool in Ontario

Authorities have stated that family was present at the time when the drowning occurred.

A 1-year-old girl who was rushed to the hospital after being pulled from a backyard swimming pool in Burlington has died.

According to CP24, emergency crews were called to the scene of the drowning in the area of Headon Road and Upper Middle Road on July 25th. When police officers arrived, they found the young girl in critical condition, and performed life-saving measures to the best of their abilities.

The girl was taken to the hospital, however on Tuesday it was reported that she had passed away.

Police are now trying to determine what led to the events of the drowning. Authorities have stated that family was present at the time when the drowning occurred.
