Conservative Party leader Erin O’Toole issued a statement on Wednesday, following the release of a Statistics Canada report showing inflation is currently at its highest point in a decade.

"Canada’s inflation rate is at its highest point in a decade, up 3.6 per cent this year alone, the largest yearly increase since May 2011. Today’s inflation numbers show the damage Justin Trudeau’s risky deficits and trillion-dollar debt are causing Canadians."

"From housing to post-secondary education, transportation, and groceries, Justin Trudeau has made life more expensive for average Canadians who are exhausted and want life to return to normal. We literally can’t afford more of the same from Justin Trudeau," wrote O'Toole.

"If you are not concerned about the declining state of the Canadian economy, you have three parties to choose from. If you are, there is only one choice, Canada’s Conservatives.

"As part of our five-point Canada recovery plan, Conservatives will secure the Canadian economy by balancing the budget over the next decade, which will reduce inflation and result in lower housing prices, transportation costs, and grocery bills.
