At least 1000 people marched through downtown Toronto as part of the latest  “March for Freedom” from COVID-restrictions, chanting “No New Normal!” and “Healthy people don’t need masks!”

Several people observing the march criticized the participants and told them to put on masks. One man told them they’re “only thinking of themselves,” adding that “healthy people keep other people healthy! It’s what Canadians do!”

Earlier in the day, 35 protestors gathered out front of Premier Doug Ford’s home, opposing COVID-19 restrictions. Although he has asked them to stop gathering outside his house, the protestors feel it is justified.

Among the 35 was Suzanne Robertson, who that “He has made it personal for me. I have not worked in 7 months. My son is not going to school. My son is not even able to hang out with his friends. He’s sitting at home dying. [Doug Ford] wants to make it personal, so I’m making it personal.”

Protester Lynda Brownlee said “We’re his yahoos, so we’re here to ‘yahoo!’”

One man, identified as Brian Kidder, attempted to enter the premier’s property in order to conduct a citizen’s arrest on the politician who he says is guilty of “a criminal breach of trust, theft by owner from person with special property or interest in it, theft over, and criminal misappropriation” related to theft of WSIB entitlements. Kidder was detained a few days earlier for attempting the same at Queen’s Park.

As Kidder was taken away by police, protestors chanted “Arrest Doug Ford!”

Both events were otherwise peaceful with no tickets or arrests.
